MDF Doors FAQ
What are one-piece MDF cabinet doors?
One-piece MDF cabinet doors are cut and profiled from a single sheet of medium-density fiberboard on a CNC machine, with no glued-up frame or joints. The result is a seamless, perfectly flat, paint-ready surface with no seams to crack — ideal for painted kitchens and modern or Shaker-style cabinetry.
Can I order cabinet doors in custom sizes?
Yes. Every door is machined to order, so you specify the exact width and height you need rather than choosing from fixed sizes. That makes our doors a precise fit for replacements, refacing projects, and custom cabinetry where stock sizes won't work.
Do you ship cabinet doors nationwide?
Yes — our CNC MDF doors are made to order and shipped across the United States. Because doors are a compact, shippable product, you don't need to be local to central Massachusetts to order them; only our on-site cabinetry installation is limited to New England.
Are MDF doors good for painting?
MDF is one of the best surfaces for a painted finish. It has no wood grain to telegraph through paint and no joints to crack at the seams, so a properly primed MDF door gives a smooth, factory-like painted result that solid-wood five-piece doors struggle to match.
How do I measure for replacement cabinet doors?
Measure the existing door's width and height to the nearest 1/16", and confirm the hinge type and overlay. For a full walkthrough, see our guide "How to Measure for Replacement Cabinet Doors." When in doubt, send your measurements and we'll confirm before machining.
