What is King StarBoard® and why use it for furniture?
King StarBoard® is a marine-grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE) originally made for boat building. It won't rot, warp, splinter, rust, or fade, and it needs no sanding, staining, or sealing. That makes it ideal for outdoor furniture that lives outside year-round and still looks new after years of sun, rain, and salt air.
Does StarBoard furniture need any maintenance?
Essentially none. Unlike wood, StarBoard HDPE never needs refinishing, sealing, or covering. It won't absorb water or grow mold in the material, and the color runs all the way through, so it can't chip or peel. To clean it, rinse with a hose or wipe with soapy water.
Is your furniture made in the USA?
Yes. Our StarBoard outdoor furniture is cut, assembled, and finished by hand in our New England workshop using marine-grade King StarBoard® HDPE and stainless-steel hardware.
